Hot end to Olympics!

Long time no blog!! After record July in  parlour, been watching Olympics on tv. Feel inspired to take up some sport, but don't know what. Me like most people right now are amazed at how well Team GB have done. I will miss watching it in the evenings and catching up with all the news headlines. Graeme comes to visit me in the parlour at regular tea intervals updating me with any medal news. It's been fab!!!

Midsummer day - come on England!!

Just finished Rufus, the Irish Terrier. I love handstripping - it's so satisfying! Unlike the leak I had this week in the extension of the parlour. Rain, rain go away. I will be going up on the roof this week with a view to fixing said leak. I thought we were getting close to Wimbledon so the weather must naturally be wet!

Listening to Pink Floyd waiting for my next customer. What an amazing piece of music. I think even Ted likes it! Will be watching the football  tonight and hoping we get through the quarter finals of Euro 2012. You never know.

Summer's here

Hi everyone. Summer is in bloom and it's no joke for dogs. Our dog Ted is finding it hot under all his fur. He is finding it cooler outside the parlour on the patio but he does look sorry for himself.  I have clipped him to make the heat as bearable as possible and keep water both in the parlour and in the house. I know I should not complain but need to keep an eye on him to make sure  he is ok!

Special Saturday at Radio Solent!

Yesterday was my special day at Radio Solent to appear on the Sasha Twining show. Nervous as I was, I was invited to appear on her show to review the Saturday morning papers and join the Experts Corner. It was an early rise for us all but once we had found the studios in Southampton, we were greeted by the production team who could not of made us feel more welcome. The first thing I needed to do was to find some interesting articles in the papers so I could talk about them live on air. Once that bit was over, it was time to set up my grooming table and whilst grooming Ted, talk to Sasha about dog grooming and how to look after your own pet at home.

There was no time to think about nerves and before you knew it, the time had gone and it was home time. Graeme, Ted and I then made a bee line for West Key and find ourselves a fresh cup of coffee and reflect on our experiences! I very much enjoyed the time we spent there and maybe some of you actually heard me live on air??! If you go to the Radio Solent web page, you can see a picture of Ted at the studios before he had been groomed. Really there was little time to groom Ted in the time you were given, so I finished him off at home. A long overdue task!

Bring on the sunshine!

So here we are at the end of the wettist April I can remember. Certainly having a dog makes you more weather aware in as much of how many walks you have you end up drenched. Anyway, now nearly in May, things must be getting better.

I have had some shelves put up in my parlour and I will be experimenting in selling some doggy accessories like leads, shampoos and vet beds. Cattering for all your dogs needs. I am excited to be doing this. It gives me much pleasure to give my customers a full service, and the dogs of course. It's for the dogs I am doing this. I hope it takes off! I will let you know. Write more later.....K x

Summertime in bloom...

Hi everyone. What glorious weather. Makes walking your dog even more pleasurable, rather than battling through mud on the country walks! Ted is currently sleeping on me as I write my blog this week. He is a tired dog after his walk today and following us around doing all the jobs we needed to get done. Now relaxing with a glass of wine. That is me and not Ted! Every evening after a day in my parlour ends with a cuddle from Ted and a glass of wine. Its the best medicine in the world.

Looking forward to the Easter weekend - a bit of DIY and a trip to the New Forest. Get my head around maybe selling some accessories in my parlour as an extra entity. Just thinking right now. Got to think these things through to make sure its the right thing to do. If I write more on this subject, then its the right thing to do for Posh Pooches. Watch this space.

Happy Easter everyone!!!!

Guide dogs for the Blind

I am pleased to announce Posh Pooches is sponsoring training dogs for the blind as my chosen charity. My puppy is called Skipper and is a golden retriever pup. Posh Pooches will be donating each month towards the training of Skipper. All being well, Skipper will develop into a fully fledged guide dog and be assigned a new owner who I am sure will love having Skipper as their helper. I am so pleased about this new development with Posh Pooches. I will be sent photos of Skipper and news letters during this process and will keep you updated too!
